Danny talks with Reverend Kamil Ziolkowski about the Christian symbolism woven throughout the Harry Potter franchise, including the phoenix as an ancient emblem of Christ’s death and resurrection.

This demo episode explores how modern fantasy can echo timeless truths.

In conversation with Rev. Kamil Ziolkowski, we discussed the phoenix as a Christological symbol — a creature reborn from ashes — and the subtle moral framework underlying J.K. Rowling’s universe.

The segment was produced for my radio production class, blending voice tracking, live interview, and ambient scoring to create a thoughtful 15-minute feature that was meant to highlight theology in pop culture.

Reflection:

Producing At World’s End showed me how radio can open spiritual conversations in unexpected, unscripted places. It taught me to balance curiosity with reverence by asking questions that invite both believers and skeptics into dialogue. As a communicator of faith, I’m drawn to projects that highlight grace in contemporary storytelling.
